Take the message to your community. Host a screening of the documentary Seantience at your university, school, cultural center, library, or community space. Each screening is an opportunity to raise awareness about the sentience of aquatic animals and spark important conversations.

Create a local group

Creating a local group is one of the most effective ways to give a voice to aquatic animals and mobilize more people to make a real impact in your community.

Moreover, it can be very simple. You don’t need prior experience—just motivation and the desire to create change that truly makes a difference for animals.

  1. Gather a team of people who want to take action for aquatic animals. The group doesn’t need to be large; what matters most is commitment.

  2. Plan an activity to carry out in your area: a documentary screening, talks at schools, discussion or reading groups, etc.

  3. After the activity, evaluate what went well and what could be improved—then start planning the next one!

If you’d like help starting your local group, write to us and we’ll send you a starter kit with ideas to get going: outreach materials, guides for organizing activities, and contacts of other interested people in your area.
